Finances are 'tight for couples'

Couples across the UK are having to make difficult choices in the present financial climate in order to make ends meet and to achieve their life goals, it has been revealed.

Research carried out by Churchill Home Insurance showed 28 per cent of young couples in the UK are putting their dreams on hold and have to decide between homeownership and starting a family.

Overall, 43 per cent said they would rather start a family first, while a third (33 per cent) were inclined to purchase a property before having children.

Matt Owen, a spokesperson for Churchill Home Insurance, commented: "Financial uncertainty has meant a lot of people have had to make difficult decisions about their priorities in their home lives."

Meanwhile, a spokesman from Family Investments recently noted people should take the time to learn more about the different financial services that are available to them during this difficult financial period.
