Cheapest cover 'not always the best'

Individuals looking to take out insurance cover for a vehicle have been advised that in many instances, the cheapest deal on offer may not be the best choice.

A spokesman from motorcycle insurance broker Carole Nash said focusing on price can be a mistake, as the policy may be the cheapest option for getting on to the road legally, but it may not offer all the cover a person needs.

He commented: "It is certainly important that you check the policy before you buy it and read your policy documents when you get them."

The representative added that when considering quotes online, it is important to put in as much information as possible, as many of the questions asked can be overly simplified.

Meanwhile, motoring organisation the AA recently claimed individuals caught driving while uninsured should have greater penalties than they presently receive, with a £200 fine insufficient to put people off from breaking the law in this manner.
