Halifax fixed fee conveyancing service launched

Halifax will be offering a pioneering no sale – no fee conveyancing service to property buyers.

The fixed fee service, which is available to customers and non-customers alike, will see independent solicitors providing the legal services required for purchasing a property.

Nigel Payne, head of the Halifax conveyancing service, said: "Providing home related legal products is a natural extension to our role as the country's leading mortgage provider."

The cost of the service depends on the value of the property ranging from £299 for properties valued at less than £50,000 up to £799 for properties valued between £401,000 — £500,000.

He added that Halifax is also planning on launching other everyday legal services later this year.
