According to a report by Lloyd's TSB Insurance, one in five Brits has experienced "ski rage", which could potentially result in a physical injury.
Research by the insurer reveals that one million people in the UK will be heading to the slopes this winter yet one in ten are not covered by winter sports insurance.
Phil Loney, managing director of Lloyds TSB Insurance, states: "While most people have travel insurance, not all of us remember that winter sports are not automatically covered. Checking that you are covered for injuries or lost property on the slopes is an absolute must."
Figures from Lloyd's TSB Insurance show that the most common cause of "ski rage" is being cut up on the slopes, with a third saying that they got angry when there were bumped into.
An infuriated fifth of skiers said that they had exchanged obscenities with the offending skier and three per cent said they had resorted to physical violence on the slopes.
Lloyds TSB Insurance reports that the most common claims that are submitted include claims for injuries, medical expenses and lost property.
