Nationwide fixed rate mortgages amended

The Nationwide fixed rate mortgages will have new rates for customers from December 6th.

Rates start at 4.59 per cent for the two-year fixed rate mortgage, 4.79 per cent for the three and five-year deals and 4.89 per cent for the ten-year mortgage.

Furthermore, customers can overpay or underpay during the fixed rate period.

Customers must also pay a reservation fee on Nationwide fixed rate mortgages. This can either be paid upfront, or be added to the borrower's loan.

The option of not paying a reservation fee is also available, but this means that a higher rate of interest will be charged.

For the ten-year product, the reservation fee currently stands at £199, while it is £399 for the two and three-year products.
