Nationwide bonds withdrawn

The Nationwide bonds specially released for Christmas will be withdrawn from sale.

The Christmas bonds and e-bonds have proved to be very popular and will not be sold after the close of business today, the building society said.

However, a new range of fixed rate bonds and e-bonds will be issued tomorrow, paying up to 4.65 per cent and 4.75 per cent gross per annum respectively.

One, two and three-year terms will be available for the new Nationwide bonds.

The building society also said that the members' maturity bond will still be available to those who already have a maturing Christmas bond.

The Christmas bonds were launched on December 5th for both new and existing customers.
