NatWest mortgages on sale

Selected arrangement fees will be cut by up to 50 per cent on NatWest mortgages in the bank's yearly sale.

The NatWest January sale starts today and also offers discounts on several other products, including home insurance policies and loans.

Up to 25 per cent will be taken off home insurance products and a one per cent discount applies to loans over £10,000 taken by the bank's Advantage customers.

Customers could save between £50 and £200 on NatWest mortgages, according to the bank.

Helen Page, NatWest brand director, said: "After all the expense of Christmas, people are looking to make savings in 2006."

She added that deals on NatWest mortgages, insurance and loan products could help take customers into 2006 without a "financial hangover".

The January sale is a concept brought to UK banking by HSBC last year, with the bank offering an alternative set of discounts from today that include a six-month deal of 2.69 per cent on fixed rate mortgages.
