Tiscali teams with Lloyds for online insurance

Through the deal, Tiscali will now integrate Lloyd's car, home, travel and pet insurance into the money section of its website, bringing a wider range of insurance products in addition to instant quotes to the service.
The UK internet service provider said that it anticipates both increased traffic and ecommerce as a result of the partnership with Lloyds.
Lloyd's deal with Tiscali follows partnerships made last year with AOL and MSN to integrate its quote engine into AOL's Money Channel and MSN's Money and Carview channels.
Visitors to Tiscali's money channel will be able to get instant insurance quotes through Lloyd's screentrade.co.uk and insurance.co.uk brands.
The partnership is part of a growing trend in the UK insurance market, marking the popularity of online insurance, with analyst firm eBenchmarkers last year revealing that one in four people changed their motor insurance using the internet as a means to find a new insurer in 2002.
It said the UK online insurance market was worth £9 billion a year.
