Nationwide FlexAccount interest rate increased

The Nationwide FlexAccount is to have a credit interest rate of 4.25 per cent from April 1st.

Nationwide Building Society claims that this will be the "best standard credit interest rate on the high street".

Furthermore, the bank says that customers who have a current account offering a good credit interest rate could be up to £130 better off annually.

Those holding a Nationwide FlexAccount also benefit from free debit card use abroad, as well as an overdraft facility with a rate of 7.75 per cent.

Old and new customers of the Nationwide FlexAccount will benefit from the new rate.

Speaking about the account, Stuart Bernau, the executive director of Nationwide, said the bank was "delighted" to offer such an "exceptional" rate.
