Nationwide fixed-rate mortgage among new offerings

It has been announced today that a Nationwide fixed-rate mortgage and a new tracker deal will be added to its current range of products.

The two-year fixed-rate mortgage will be available with an interest rate of 4.44 per cent.

A rate of 4.39 per cent will be the starting point for the two-year tracker option.

Both of these new offers charge a reservation fee of £599; this can either be paid immediately or added to the loan itself.

The building society also announced that the interest rate on its current two-year tracker mortgage is to be decreased from 4.54 per cent to 4.49 per cent.

Head of external affairs with Nationwide Alan Oliver said: "We've launched these two new products in response to feedback from borrowers that they would like the option to take a lower rate with a higher fee."

The Nationwide fixed-rate mortgage and tracker package will be available from Friday February 10th.
