Lloyds TSB Islamic Financial Services campaign underway

The Lloyds TSB Islamic Financial Services scheme is being showcased all over the country in a series of road shows beginning this week.

An Islamic mortgage and current account make up the range and have been designed to cater for the two million Muslims currently living in the UK.

Payment or receipt of interest on any sort of financial investment is forbidden to those who follow Islam.

The current account therefore offers no credit interest or overdraft facility.

Similar amendments have been made to the mortgage scheme, which is based on repayment of a sum over a set period of time rather than interest payments on an initial loan taken out.

Lloyds TSB Islamic Financial Services head Paul Sherrin said: "These road shows are a real opportunity for people interested in our Islamic Financial Services to learn more about what we offer and to put questions to our panel of experts."

The first road show is to take place in Ilford on February 16th with 11 more events scheduled across the country.
