A family of four drivers, for example, on the same policy will save 40 per cent on the overall cost.
Any policyholders insuring two or more cars with the company will automatically be granted the discount.
Direct Line claimed that, based on recent research, 85 per cent of households have at least one vehicle and 40 per cent have two cars or more.
Its survey also reported that 25 per cent of drivers admit to having spent more than £10,000 on a car – with some taking out loans and spending their savings on a new vehicle.
Motor spokesperson for Direct Line Emma Holyer said: "It doesn't seem to matter how much it costs to buy and keep a second car, Brits still love them.
"Direct Line will now be able to help ease this financial burden by offering a discount to anyone insuring more than one car with us."
The Direct Line Car Insurance offer is available on all categories of insurance and has a maximum allowance of ten vehicles.
