New Norwich Union Self Invested Personal Pension announced

The Norwich Union Self Invested Personal Pension (Sipp) has been introduced today and intends to grant access to a range of the insurer's funds and also to fund managers.

Customers will be offered a 'quick switch' facility allowing them to swiftly assess their opportunities for investment.

Financial advisers will also be given services through the scheme, including a risk profiling tool that will allow them to advise their clients more capably.

All current services on the product will be offered through Lifetime and from April 6th onwards access to commercial property funds will be offered through Suffolk Life.

Following consumer and adviser research into the pensions market, commercial and marketing director of Norwich Union Life Mike Kirsch said that the Norwich Union Self Invested Personal Pension was a "highly versatile and flexible Sipp product".

Norwich Union claims to be the UK's biggest insurer and one of the largest providers to financial advisers.
