Saga Travel Money could offer "a little extra luxury"

The Saga Travel Money package could offer travellers an extra €19 when purchasing £500 worth of holiday money, the company has claimed.

At the company's rate of exchange of 1.4194, £500 would buy a holidaymaker €709.70.

This is more than the €702 return offered by Amex and HSBC, the €698.55 accessible with Lloyds and the €698.30 available from the Post Office.

The lowest return for £500 is Thomas Cook's offer of €690 at an exchange rate of 1.38.

"People spend a lot of time planning for their holiday and finding the right destination, but clearly leave more to chance when it comes to making the most of their holiday money," said Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga.

The Saga Travel Money package is available at zero per cent commission and offers free delivery of purchased currency for orders over £300.
