BA reports drop in forward bookings

LONDON, UK - New figures indicate that forward bookings at British Airways have seen steady decreases since last year.

Bosses claim that the drop has resulted from growing security fears, as the global aviation industry becomes increasingly concerned with potential terrorist activity.

The airline, along with Air France, cancelled several flights to and from the US over the weekend following intelligence suggesting that al-Qaeda was plotting to target transatlantic aircraft.

However, the airline has reported a continued recovery in passenger traffic in January, according to M2.

It is hoped that increased confidence in the airline industry will lead to increased take up in forward bookings.
