Abbey Property and Stockmarket Plan launched

Abbey has launched a new product aimed at those looking to invest their capital over a fixed term.

The Abbey Property and Stockmarket Plan has been launched, offering customers a guarantee on the return of their original capital after a five and a half or ten-year term.

Linked to the average growth of the Halifax House Price Index and the FTSE 100 Index, the product is available as an individual savings account (Isa) or property and stockmarket plan (PSP).

Pak Chain, head of investments marketing at Abbey, said that the Abbey Property and Stockmarket Plan gives people "access to two major investment opportunities, while keeping their original money secure".

He went on to say: "By offering a capital guarantee we can offer peace of mind as well as the potential for growth".

There is a minimum investment of £1,500 for the product with a maximum of £7,500 that can be invested every tax year.
