AA Business Insurance unveiled

The AA has announced a new venture today in the form of AA Business Insurance.

This is the official name of the company's commercial insurance broking business, which was sold to Aon Affinity in 1996 but has now been recovered.

Over this course of ten years, Aon continued to sell insurance under the AA brand name, but with this reacquisition in the form of AA Business Insurance, the company will regain about 1,600 business customers.

This number will include commercial fleets, goods in transit, public liability and a number of other businesses.

John Close, general manager of AA Insurance, described the venture as "an exciting move", saying that it was perfectly aligned with the company's "fresh approach to the commercial market".

"It provides a solid platform on which to build our commercial insurance presence," he added.

Today's announcement adds the AA Business Insurance package to recent introductions and re-launches that have included life, pet and motorcycle insurance.
