Winterthur Life Personal Pension among new offers

A new Winterthur Life Personal Pension is one of a number of new schemes launched today that are intended to meet the needs of those planning for retirement after A-Day (April 6th).

Among the other new packages are a self-invested personal pension, which has had new portfolio managers added to its panel and a trustee investment plan offering access to the company's range of investment funds.

A Section 32 plan, which is available for scheme transfers and is intended for clients wishing to protect a tax-free lump sum investment, was also introduced.

The firm claims that the Winterthur Life Personal Pension will offer a "quick and easy route" to the self-invested personal pension post A-Day and is "competitively priced and transparent".

David Thompson, distribution director for Winterthur Life, said: "Following the new A-Day changes, Winterthur has updated its range of A-Day compliant individual products."

On April 6th the set of rules that govern pensions will be adjusted in an attempt to make the process more simple. One expected change is for the current set of eight regulations relating to pension taxation to be replaced by one single set of rules.
