Dental cover increased on Saga Health Cash Plan

The Saga Health Cash Plan has today seen increases in the level of insurance it offers, meaning that customers can get an extra 20 per cent of cover for dental treatment in the first year of their deal.

Level one cover will be increased from £80 to £100, the level two package will now offer £165 compared to the previous level of £135 and the level three cover will rise from £190 to £230.

The changes mean that customers will now be able to assess the particular type of product they need more effectively and ensure they have cover that suits their requirements, the company states.

Today's adjustments are in preparation for the alterations planned by the NHS on April 1st, which will lead to dentists leaving the NHS and some treatment costs increasing, according to Saga.

"It is already very difficult to find an NHS dentist willing to take on new patients and we expect that the legislation introduced next month will make this even harder," said Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga.

As well as the changes in cover on the Saga Health Cash Plan, the company also announced that it was waiving the usual 13-week qualifying period for dental treatment.

Saga offers a range of Health Cash Plans, which start from the equivalent of £3.25 per week, although actual premiums will depend on individual circumstances.
