Lloyds TSB Islamic Current Account on the road

A number of road shows will be taking place across Scotland in the near future as Lloyds TSB promotes its Islamic Financial Services division – the main product in the range being the Lloyds TSB Islamic Current Account.

The events will begin with a show on Seaward Street in Glasgow on April 10th and will promote the bank's range of products, which are designed particularly to meet the banking needs of the Muslim community.

Shariah – Islamic law – forbids the payment or receipt of interest and therefore the Lloyds TSB Islamic Current Account offers a debit card but no payments on credit and does not have an overdraft facility.

Paul Sherrin, head of Lloyds TSB Islamic Financial Services, said that the road shows were an opportunity for people to learn more about this division of the bank's business and put questions to a panel of experts.

"Islamic banking is only just beginning in the UK but Lloyds TSB is proud to be playing its part in making these services available to more people across the country," Mr Sherrin added.

The Lloyds TSB Islamic Current Account does not require a minimum balance and has no maintenance fees.
