Bradford & Bingley's Travel Insurance shows age concern

Bradford & Bingley's Travel Insurance is catering for the discerning traveller by raising the age limit for its travel insurance offering.

With one in ten travellers over the age of 65 going abroad without travel insurance, the organisation feels it can offer deals to keep them happy.

Age limits for annual trip and single trip travel insurance have been raised from 74 and 79 respectively to 79 and 85.

Other aspects of Bradford & Bingley's Travel Insurance include 24-hour worldwide emergency assistance, ten per cent discount if one's home insurance covers personal possessions already and the free travel insurance for children on an annual trip policy.

Dave Foyle, head of general insurance at Bradford & Bingley, said: "Interestingly, the two age groups to show the steepest increase in international travel since 1993 are 55-64 year olds with a huge 140 per cent increase, and over 65's with 110 per cent increase.

"The main reasons for this trend are that we are enjoying better health for longer, and this generation has more money to spend in retirement."
