Churchill Home Insurance warns of handbag theft

With an additional 31 per cent of women having their handbag stolen, the need for home insurance to cover one's belongings could not be more pressing.
This is emphasised by the fact that each time a handbag goes missing, women lose items worth £228 on average.
On top of the financial loss of wallets, keys and make-up, losing a handbag can mean up to six days spent sorting out all the ensuing problems.
A spokesperson for Churchill Home Insurance, Abi Clark, commented: "The theft or loss of a bag can cause a woman no end of problems, stress and worry.
"We carry a lot of value in our bags and it can take substantial time and money to cancel credit cards, have new home and car keys cut and replace lost luxury items too."
With so many women subjected to such a painful experience, home insurance is a necessity for peace of mind.
As part of the 2005 Your Money Direct Awards, Churchill was deemed Best Direct Home and Contents Insurance Provider.
