Over 250 insured funds from 42 different managers will be accessible through the product, which have been chosen to meet the investment targets of the mass affluent customers at whom the plan is aimed.
The plan requires a minimum contribution of £200 a month, or £5,000 for single payments.
"We believe the market for Sipps will continue to increase post-A-Day," said Tony Filbin, head of retirement products for Legal & General.
"The new pension rules will allow much larger contributions to be invested in pensions, with the emphasis on lump sum investments – including transfers."
The Legal & General Portfolio Plus Sipp has annual management charges of 0.6 per cent per year for funds with a value of less than £25,000 and 0.1 per cent for those exceeding £25,000.
