Nationwide Single Trip Travel Insurance altered

Parents holidaying with children will now be able to purchase Nationwide Single Trip Travel Insurance including four children in their policy at no extra cost, the company has said today.

Nationwide states that the change is part of its ongoing overhaul of pricing strategies in its range of single trip cover for families, individuals and couples.

The company gives examples suggesting that a family of two adults and up to four children travelling to America could save up to £34 compared to other leading providers or an individual travelling to Greece could save £11 with Nationwide.

"As summer approaches and thoughts turn to holidays and trips abroad, it is important that people have adequate holiday insurance, regardless of whether they are travelling alone or as a family," said Robin Bailey, insurance director at Nationwide.

"At Nationwide, we understand that parents want travel insurance that is both affordable and comprehensive."

Nationwide Single Trip Travel Insurance offers up to £10 million of cover for emergency medical expenses, £5,000 cancellation cover and a free pre-travel advice line.

Customers can also use a 24-hour emergency medical assistance helpline in an emergency and the deal offers a 14-day money back guarantee.

Reduced premiums will be available for customers who do not wish to purchase personal possessions or personal money cover.
