Sainbury's Bank Standard and Platinum Cards offer interest rates for longer

Only six credit cards offer zero per cent APR on purchases for longer than ten months, Sainbury's Bank Standard and Platinum Cards, according to research by Moneyfacts.

There are four other credit cards offering zero per cent for the first ten months but the research confirms that only Sainbury's Bank Standard and Platinum Cards maintain the offer for longer.

Further research by Sainsbury's Bank has revealed interest-free periods on introductory purchases vary considerably in length and some can last for as little as three months.

Donald Macleod, manager of the Sainsbury's Bank Standard and Platinum Cards, said: "By offering some of the longest periods available, we are giving our customers greater flexibility in how they manage their purchases, enabling them to spread the cost of larger items such as holidays or furniture for the home."

Sainsbury's Bank Standard and Platinum Cards have chip and pin security and an option of protection against loss or theft.
