Halifax Home Insurance gets five star rating

Only eleven insurance providers had their contents and buildings insurance rated as five star and Halifax Home Insurance was among them.
Travel and pet insurance products from Halifax were also rated with five stars – Defaqto gave this award to just nine other travel insurers.
Features judged to be most relevant to insurance customers were considered and the ratings were given on this basis.
Commenting generally on attitudes to home insurance, the Defaqto market report pointed out that "many people have no real idea of the true value of their home contents, with as many as half of all homes estimated to be underinsured."
Halifax is the UK's fourth largest home insurer and the company offers a five per cent discount when building and contents insurance policies are bought at the same time.
