AA Van Rescue Insurance offer launched

AA Insurance and AA Business Services have joined forces to create a new product designed to reward owner-drivers who rely on their van being in working order.

Van drivers who use their vehicle as a "work horse" are said to experience breakdowns up to ten per cent more frequently than car owners and the AA Van Rescue Insurance is aimed at recognising the needs of this "silent majority".

Despite the increased breakdown figures van owners are thought to take better car of their vehicles because they make seven per cent less claims on their insurance policies than the average car owner.

Roger Williams, head of major fleets and leasing at AA Business Services, said: "With all commercial vehicle fleets, keeping them on the road is a priority but this becomes even more critical if it is an owner-driver or small business with no spare vehicles.

"A broken down van has a serious impact on the business," he added.

AA also offers pet home and travel insurance policies as well as breakdoen cover and financial advice services.
