The Abbey Fixed Rate Monthly Saver account has rates raised

A saving product from Abbey will have its rates raised to seven per cent gross per annum from July 14th 2006, it has been announced.

New and existing customers will be able to benefit from the rate increase on the Abbey Fixed Rate Monthly Saver account which has a fixed rate for a twelve month period.

The account, once opened will not be closed in the event that a customer makes a withdrawal or misses a payment during a given month, though the full interest rate will not be paid during this month.

Reza Attar-Zadeh, Abbey's head of banking and savings, commented: "This is a straightforward offer, which gives great value, offers flexibility and is available to anyone."

Abbey offers mortgage, banking, insurance and investment products online.
