Bradford & Bingley Insurance takes steps to go green

For every insurance policy sold by Bradford & Bingley Insurance a tree will be planted in a UK forest, the company has revealed.

On taking out a new home, motor or travel insurance policy with Bradford & Bingley, customers will be asked to select a forest somewhere in the UK where they would like to have a new tree planted.

The initiative is designed to help to tackle global warming and will continue until the end of the year, by which time the bank hopes thousands of new trees will have been introduced to the country's woodlands.

Jonathan Shopley, chief executive officer of the CarbonNeutral Company, said: "It is fantastic to see Bradford & Bingley not only taking action to reduce its own impacts on climate change but also helping to raise the issue with its customers."

In addition to insurance, Bradford & Bingley offers savings and mortgage products.
