Hope fades for water park survivors

Moscow's mayor has given up hope of finding additional survivors after a roof collapsed at a water park.

Yuri Luzhkov told Russian news agencies that there is now "no hope" of finding any more survivors of the incident that saw 26 people killed, four of which were children.

Police in Moscow suggest that 17 people are still missing in the rubble of the swimming pool.

On Saturday the glass and concrete roof of the building shattered sending the occupants into a panic. According to Pravda, 113 were injured, 68 of which are still in hospitals, including 25 children.

The Russian government has suspended the licenses of the companies that participated in the construction of the Transvaal water park in Moscow while an inquiry is conducted.

The clear up operation is to continue today, but as temperatures have dropped below -15C officials only expect to find more bodies.
