AMI launches Hips update factsheet

The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI) has today announced the launch of its new Home Information Packs (Hips) factsheet.

It is thought that the pack has been designed as a briefing on the most recent developments on the schedule, as well as the contents and delivery of Hips.

The factsheet follows AMI's November information and provides members with information on the changes announced by the government.

Included in the factsheet is information on the background to Hips, Hip regulations, certification schemes, testing of Hips, the cost, industry reaction and various other resources.

"It is important that mortgage intermediaries continue to be informed about the possible impact Hips could have on their businesses," Rob Griffiths, associate director of AMI, commented.

"AMI has produced this factsheet to give members a clear understanding of the current state of play and to remind them their clients will still be required to have a Hip in place when they market their property from June 1st next year."

Mr Griffiths goes on to say that the AMI will continue to explore the impact of Hips through its working group and members can receive more information on Hips on the AMI website.
