Esure launches 'pol-cast' facility

Next week Esure will become the first insurance company to launch a 'pol-cast' facility for its customers that enables insurance details to be downloaded to an MP3 player.

The facility will enable customers to simply put on their headphones and listen to their own insurance policy when they need to and will cut out the need for lots of documentation to worry about when travelling by car or abroad.

The pol-cast will be available for motor insurance and travel insurance policies and each pol-cast will be around the length of your average pop track.

Mike Pickard, head of risk and underwriting at Esure, said: "Insurance information tends to get stuffed into the back of filing cabinets or left at the bottom of never-read piles of bumpf.

"By putting all our contact details and policy summaries onto small MP3 files, motorists and holidaymakers never need be without important insurance information when they need it most – if they have an accident or perhaps during a flight delay."

The facility will be available to all Esure customers by the end of this month and the company is confident that the idea will take off.
