Apacs Cards and Students guide published

The UK payments association Apacs has published a new guide to give students the financial information they need to make savvy money choices.

Aimed at first years, the Apacs Cards and Students guide focuses on borrowing, specifically on credit cards.

The Apacs Cards and Students guide offers tips for taking on "safe" debt and managing finances properly.

Fraud advice is also included in the Apacs Cards and Students publication, while the association outlines a list of benefits and risks associated with credit cards.

According to the Apacs director of communications, Sandra Quinn, the Apacs Cards and Students guide is designed to be "a quick and easy checklist" for students.

"Nowadays, most students expect to be in debt when they graduate and whilst it might be impossible to avoid student loan debt, getting a handle on managing your finances can make the world of difference," she says.

"We have an important role to play in educating all people, not just students, about responsible borrowing and the benefits and risks of using plastic cards."
