Changes in Nationwide Fixed Rate Bond offerings

Changes are to be made to Nationwide's Fixed Rate Bond offerings to offer better benefits for the building society's customers.

At close of business on Thursday September 21st 2006 Nationwide's three-year Loyalty Fixed Rate Bond will be withdrawn from sale.

A new three-year Loyalty Fixed Rate Bond paying 5.20 per cent gross per annum AER will be available in its place, providing a guaranteed return for savers.

The bond is not limited to one per member and will be available throughout the year, although the rate payable will change on different tranches, Nationwide says.

Also being withdrawn from sale are Nationwide's one and two year Fixed Rate Bonds. A new range of one and two year Fixed Rate Bonds and new e-Bonds will be available instead and are open to new and existing members.

These new Nationwide Fixed Rate Bond offerings are available to customers from September 22nd 2006.
