Lloyds TSB Scotland allows Young Scot ID

Lloyds TSB Scotland aims to make opening a bank account easier by allowing Young Scot cards as a form of identification.

Usually, banks require a passport of driving licence as ID in order to open an account, however, Lloyds TSB Scotland has decided that the Young Scot, with its PASS hologram security feature, is adequate ID.

It therefore becomes the first UK bank to enable the Young Scot to be used as sufficient ID to open a bank account.

Hailing the move, Lisa Stephenson, director of marketing at Lloyds TSB Scotland, commented: "This simple but practical step in easing access to financial services is an example of working in partnership with Young Scot."

She added: "Our ten local investigation teams of young volunteers will shortly be reporting their findings and we are sure to develop further ways of improving the service we offer to young people."

Lloyds TSB Scotland has a total of 187 branches across Scotland and offers products specifically for the Scottish market such as tailored mortgage packages.
