Leeds two-year discount mortgage launched

A new two-year discount mortgage with no lock-ins, available at a rate of 4.99 per cent, has been introduced by Leeds Building Society.

The mortgage is offered at up to 95 per cent of the value of the property and gives customers the option of making as many capital repayments as they wish without incurring a penalty charge.

There is no early repayment charge on the Leeds two year discount with no lock-ins, nor is there a higher lending fee up to 90 per cent of the value.

Karen Wint, head of marketing and PR at Leeds Building Society, explained: "With market rates on the increase, a mortgage at only 4.99 per cent offers outstanding value, particularly when combined with the flexibility of unlimited capital repayments at any time without penalty and no higher lending charge if a ten per cent deposit is provided.

"Furthermore, we have also developed a fee free version at only 5.49 per cent for customers who may require help with up front fees," Ms Wint added.

Leeds Building Society received a gold rating at the LEX awards, which is a collaboration between consumer research consultancy firm, Capital Blue and Lending Strategy magazine, as well as Mortgage Magazine's Best Building Society award for 2006.
