ALIL island easy access account rate increase

The offshore savings bank, Alliance & Leicester International (ALIL), has upped the interest rate on its island easy access account.

A new rate of 5.05 per cent gross AER is now available on the account, which represents a rise of 0.25 per cent from the previous interest rate of 4.80 per cent.

Customers wishing to open up an Alliance & Leicester International island easy access account need to start with a minimum balance of £10,000.

Simon Hull, managing director of Alliance & Leicester International Limited, remarked: "I am delighted to announce that we have increased the interest rate paid on our Island Easy Access account.

"This account has proved to be very popular with customers who are looking for a flexible savings account and the new increased rate gives customers even more reason to choose this competitive easy access account."

Unlimited penalty fee free withdrawals are available on the Alliance & Leicester International island easy access account, meaning customers are not penalised when they wish to take out their money.
