NatWest Fixed-Rate Bond introduced

The NatWest Fixed-Rate Bond has been launched by the bank aimed at those customers who are wishing to see a guaranteed rate on their investment during next year.

With an interest rate of 5.25 per cent paid on the maturity of the bond, the limited edition NatWest Fixed-Rate Bond requires a minimum investment of £1,000.

None of the £1,000 sum can be withdrawn throughout the course of the one-year term and the product is subject to a maximum balance of £25,000.

Colin Haddley, product director for savings at NatWest, remarked: "This new bond follows the overwhelming popularity of two similar bonds last year."

"NatWest's savings range is tailored to meet the varying needs of our customers and for people who are looking to put their money away for longer with a guaranteed interest rate, this is a competitive option," he added.

Two other bonds offered by Natwest are the Guaranteed Capital Bond and Protected Bond which differ in that the investment is either 100 per cent guaranteed on maturity as with the former or linked to the performance of the FTSE 100 in the case of the latter.
