Co-operative Group free legal services helpline to begin

Following the liberalisation of the legal market in the UK relating to the Legal Services Bill, the helpline will be offered to customers from November 27th following a trial run of the service.
Eddie Ryan, managing director of the Co-operative Legal Services, explained that to take advantage of the Cooperative Co-operative Group free legal services helpline, individuals must be members but could become one for as little as a pound.
Mr Ryan said: "The Legal Services Bill is about making legal advice more easily accessible for individuals, and cutting away the mystique and mistrust which surrounds the profession.
"Our helpline provides people with free and easy access to legal advice on a range of issues. We have experts ready to take calls on just about any legal subject which can affect the individual."
Back in July, Mr Ryan called on the government to push ahead with the Legal Services Bill because he believed that a "shake-up of the legal market is absolutely necessary".
