AA Insurance: Monday 27th is Britain's unluckiest day

While Friday 13th may strike fear into many a person's heart, it is actually Monday 27th that is Britain unluckiest day, with more insurance claims being made on this day than any other on the calendar.

This is the conclusion of AA Insurance, which found that British citizens are more likely to have a car crash or suffer an accident in the home than they are on any other day of the year.

This year Monday 27th fell in November and AA Insurance says the stormy winter weather and dark evenings could have led to an influx in car insurance claims.

Kevin Sinclair, managing director of AA Insurance, said: "Friday 13th is associated with bad luck, but our records show you're statistically more likely to have an accident or break something on Monday 27th, so there's all the more reason to make sure you're covered for any sort of eventuality."

And he adds that with winter coming now would be a good time for vehicle owners to check that their motor insurance is up to date.

Similarly the onset of the Christmas party season means homeowners should make sure that their insurance covers them for any accidental damage and breakages which may occur in their homes.
