Lower Alliance & Leicester buy-to-let fixed rates announced

Alliance & Leicester has announced lower-priced two and three year buy-to-let fixed rates in order to give buy-to-let mortgage borrowers better peace of mind.

After a hike to five per cent in November the Bank of England decided to keep interest rates on hold this month, although there is speculation that they will rise again in the New Year.

Some analysts, including Trevor Williams, the chief economist at Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets, believe a further rise in interest rates would be bad news for many investors, including those with buy-to-let mortgages.

But the new Alliance & Leicester buy-to-let fixed rates will start from just 5.13 per cent, meaning customers choosing its buy-to-let products will be protected against further quarter percentage hikes.

The bank says the launch of these new Alliance & Leicester buy-to-let fixed rates will go some way to helping it achieve its goal of becoming a major broad based lender, offering a wide range of mortgage products that present real choice and convenience to both new and existing customers.
