Canadian property could be a hit with Brits

Canada could become the next property hotspot after a leading international property organisation recommended investment in the housing market in the north American country.

The country witnessed a 9.4 per cent rise in house prices during 2006 and Assetz Canada was launched on New Year's Day 2007 by Assetz to deal with the rising demand for property.

With prices in the UK continuing to propel upwards, investors may be swayed by Canada due to comparatively lower prices and the fact the UN has voted the country the best place to live for a few years in succession.

Also, the ski season in Canada runs from November to June, a major reason why the destination is proving a hit with Britons.

Martin Sadler, sales manager of Assetz International, said: "With one of the longest ski seasons in the world and a wide and varied range of summer activities, Canada is truly a year-round global destination."

"Prices are still considerably cheaper than in most other mature markets, with a typical one-bedroom ski apartment costing around £150,000," he continued.
