New Nationwide bond range to be launched

Coming into effect from tomorrow, Nationwide Building Society is to launch a range of bonds that guarantee the investor their original investment.

New bonds available from Valentine's Day will be the Nationwide one-year fixed-rate bond, the two-year loyalty fixed-rate bond, both the one and two-year fixed-rate e-bonds and the one and two-year fixed-rate Isa bonds.

To coincide with the launch of the new Nationwide one and two-year fixed-rate Isa bonds, all of the building society's 1.6 million Isa customers will be contacted with a reminder that they can still take advantage of this year's Isa allowance before the end of the tax year.

New and existing customers can choose between the one-year fixed-rate bond and the one and two-year fixed-rate e-bonds that offer rates of between 5.65 per cent and 5.75 per cent.

Additionally, the Nationwide two-year loyalty fixed-rate bond will offer "very competitive" returns of 5.85 per cent and this product will be made available to the building society's eight million exiting customers.
