Britannia: Fixed-rate mortgages 'popular'

With figures released by the Council of Mortgage Lenders estimating that over four fifths of people are enjoying the certainty provide by fixed-rate packages, Britannia has promised to keep its mortgage range available.

Britannia fixed-rate mortgages are available in three and five-year formats, with interest rates being dependent upon fees.

For a £499 fee, consumers can take up a three-year package at a 5.34 per cent, which may offer peace of mind that monthly repayments will remain the same.

With a fee-free package, a rate of 5.69 per cent will be applicable, while a free first standard valuation will also be offered.

The five-year Britannia mortgages are similar in their make-up, with a 5.24 per cent rate being available for a fee of £499, with standard valuation and conveyancing fees also comprising part of the package.

While a 5.39 per cent rate is available for a £399 arrangement fee, the five-year Britannia mortgage is also available at a rate of 5.49 per cent, a package which possesses no arrangement fees and a free first valuation.
