Alliance & Leicester Isas offer 'extensive savings'

Alliance & Leicester is urging its customers to make the savviest choice by opting for a premier Isa Account before deadline day.

Paying at a rate of 8.10 per cent, the Alliance & Leicester Isa will be available until the close of business on Monday April 30th.

The rate on the Alliance & Leicester Isa is also guaranteed to be at least one per cent above the Bank of England base rate until April 30th 2008.

The funds for the Alliance & Leicester Isa are available through both internet and telephone banking, with no charges or penalty withdrawals applying.

The group estimates that the returns on an Isa could be lucrative, with a £30 a year saving totalling £1,000 in the eight years since an investment.

Ross Dalzell, manager for savings at Alliance & Leicester, said: "While many people leave it until the last minute each year to take advantage of their annual Isa allowance, I would urge savers to turn this habit on its head and kick-start the new tax year by saving in an Isa now."
