Halifax credit card help home improvers save

People looking to finance the furnishing of their home are being encouraged to take on a Halifax credit card.

The group's one card charges zero per cent on balance transfers and new purchases, which means that consumers will not accrue any interest in the first nine months of the package.

Halifax speculates that by using the Halifax credit card, customers could stand to save over £24 during the first year, a proportion of the £531.50 on average spent in UK homes on furniture and furnishings each year.

The Halifax credit card also possesses no annual fee and cover against online fraud when purchased online.

Ken Stannard, head of Halifax credit cards, said: "When it comes to furnishings, we all love filling our homes with creature comforts, but this shouldn't leave you with empty pockets or paying high interest for months afterwards."

The Halifax card is available through the group's website or via the HBOS branch network.
