Alliance & Leicester account 'geared for young people'

Alliance & Leicester has unveiled a new account specifically targeting the 16-21-year-old market.

The group's Premier 21 account, set to be rolled out in branches today, affords young people a number of enticing features.

The Alliance & Leicester account possesses a fantastic credit interest rate of ten per cent, while it is tied into a linked plus saver account.

Other features of the Alliance & Leicester account include an overdraft facility and access to the account at all times.

Customers who recommend the Alliance & Leicester account to a friend will also benefit from a £30 opening cash incentive.

Helen Palmer, current accounts manager at the group, said: "Many high street banks overlook the needs of young people outside of the undergraduate group.

"We think it is important to recognise those who are just starting out in their working life and offer them support, especially in the first stages of their professional lives when they are likely to be making important financial decisions," she added.
