Abbey mortgage 'takes heat' from homebuying

Research carried out by Abbey indicates that the average British homeowner spent longer choosing their annual holiday last year than they did viewing their current home.
With an average of just 96 minutes being spent viewing a property before making an offer, almost half of movers admit they have experienced setbacks on their purchases.
More than a fifth of respondents identify problems with the decor and exterior of their homes, while others say they experience problems with their neighbours.
In order to take as much heat out of the homebuying process as possible, the new Abbey mortgage, which has no upfront fees, could be the perfect solution.
The Abbey mortgage covers all upfront costs, including legal fees, with Nici Audhlam Gardiner, head of Abbey mortgages, suggesting that the package could be worth £2,000 to the average UK homeowner.
