Alliance & Leicester mortgages "great value"

Alliance & Leicester's new range of mortgages reputedly offer "great value for money" to new and existing customers.

Two-year fixed-rate and base rate trackers are available from the group at rates of 5.49 and 5.23 per cent respectively.

For product fees of £599 on both the Alliance & Leicester mortgages, customers will be able to borrow up to 95 per cent of the property value.

With the two-year fixed-rate mortgage, consumers enjoy a ten per cent overpayment facility and benefit from a maximum loan size of £250,000.

Alliance & Leicester has enhanced its five-year fixed-rate fee saver by reducing the rate on offer by 0.11 per cent.

Customers will make repayments at a rate of 5.98 per cent until June 2012, before reverting to the group's standard variable rate.

Stephen Leonard, director of mortgages at Alliance & Leicester, said that the new mortgage range offers "great choice to borrowers, whether they are looking for the security of a fixed rate or the leading headline rate of a variable rate".
