Nationwide: Internet banking 'popular'

Internet banking could provide one of the best ways for a consumer to manage their finances, new research from Nationwide indicates.

Nationwide provides a range of avenues through which consumers can manage their finances, including the Nationwide e-Bond as well as the popular e-Savings account.

A spokesperson for the group claims that the Nationwide e-Savings account is the highest paying instant access vehicle in its range.

Consumers who decide to bank online will also receive a better rate on the group's e-bond than if they were taking on a branch-based bond.

Nationwide indicated that take-up of internet banking is becoming popular among Britons, with almost half of Nationwide's registered online banking customers having an e-saving account.

Commenting upon the burgeoning popularity of internet banking, the spokesperson said: "Customers have the convenience of banking from the comfort of their own home, or indeed wherever they are in the world, together with many additional benefits such as discounts and paperless statements."
